Our own, Mina Joshi, has had a passion and love for cooking her entire life. Her father was a chef in his hometown, Nairobi.
He managed to pass down all his tricks, techniques, and secret recipes down the bloodline. He brought his kids to the restaurant, and they spent their childhood watching him feed hundreds every day.
Mrs Joshi was one of four siblings who immigrated here from East Africa back in 1993. Once she was settled, she began her journey in the corporate world. She spent over 40 years working in the corporate industry and began to realise she wanted to do MORE. After two kids, a whale of a travel from USA to Tokyo, Mrs Joshi decided food is where her heart lied. From being the go-to family chef for all family dinners, Mrs Joshi decided to shift her time into online recipes and blogs. She spent hours, documenting all her famous recipes in excruciating detail to ensure everyone and anyone could attempt to recreate the amazing food her dad taught her. These blogs become popular and through word-of-mouth, she began the path of teaching her recipes. She partnered with Waitrose and spent countless hours on radios aiding people on their attempt to recreate her famous recipes.
And NOW.
Mina Joshi has ventured onto this online platform and is now selling her own brand of high-quality spices ready to be paired with her one-to-one online cookery classes. She has divulged into this industry, ready to spread all her culinary knowledge in hope to keep the legacy of her father alive.
Meet Nirali, recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, is our lead developer.
Nirali (Mina's niece) has been apart of the Give Me Some Spice journey since she was 6 years old, she was Mina's chief taster and was featured in many blog posts over the years.
From her love of food and love for her dear aunt, Nirali brought this concept to Mrs Joshi and the two decided to bite the bullet and begin their joint venture.
